The Chapel of the Lord of the Column

San Luis de la Paz, Gto.  July 30, 2013.  At 315 Hidalgo Street, between Bravo and Ortiz Dominguez, is located a decaying construction that was used as a chapel in honor of the Lord of the Column. This was one of the countless chapels that were built in San Luis de la Paz during the Colony, usually by Otomi Indians, who had the habit of having oratories in their homes. In general, the name of the chapels was based on an episode of the passion of Christ. Don Angel Lino Arredondo (+), who was chronicler of the city, confided us that human remains were found there in the 20th century, so perhaps it served as tomb for some of the believers.
